Gede Nyoman Wiratanaya, Lexie Adrin Kembuan

Abstract

This study discussed the application of eco-theological concepts in Christian life through the tradition of Unduh-Unduh festivity. The concept of eco-theology taught that humans had a moral responsibility to preserve nature and create harmony between humans and nature. The tradition of Unduh-Unduh festivity  in Bali, which is carried out annually, has very strong eco-theological elements, such as respect for nature and efforts to preserve the environment. This study used qualitative research methods by conducting interviews about the celebration of Unduh-Unduh. The results showed that the Unduh-Unduh tradition was very important for the congregation as a form of respect for nature and God's creation. In the context of Christian life, the application of eco-theological concepts through Unduh-Unduh tradition could help to increase the awareness of human moral responsibility to preserve nature and create harmony between humans and nature.

Abstak
